| Well, Thanksgiving is done and another month has flown by and it looks like Christmas is knocking on our door. Since the last message we have had a few events at the lodge.; The Halloween Party went well from what I hear. I am sorry to say I could not make it this year because work took me out of town. But, I was informed that it was successful and standing room only. Thanks to Kathy Fisher and the Entertainment Committee and all who helped decorate, bring the food, and the rest of the work to make it a heck of a party. I never doubted that there was some great costumes there either. You guys have great imaginations! Into November, the Veterans Committee held the annual Veteran's Day Breakfast. It was a hit! By word of mouth, fliers, newspaper, and the radio, the breakfast has picked up in attendance every year. I myself announced it on 92-7 the Bull. It seemed like it paid off because I got a lot of feedback from people calling me saying it was there first time to the breakfast and some their first time to the lodge. Everyone said they had a good time and they loved the whole experience. Over 400 people showed up to chow down on eggs, bacon and sausage among other delicious treats. I'm glad they had enough food. Thanks to the Veteran's Committee and those who helped make this a very special day for those who have sacrificed so much for our country and freedom. If you didn't know by now every month we celebrate everybody's birthday for those who are born in that particular month. Celine and Cecile go all out and put there all into making one Saturday night a month a night to remember. From food to entertainment it is a time you don't want to miss. This month's Birthday party was no exception. It was a great time and Happy Birthday to all members that was born in the month of November. Thank you Celine and Cecile and everybody that gives them a helping hand in making these birthdays memorable for our members. The next Birthday Party is coming up soon on December 10. So be sure to come and enjoy. There are more events coming up as well. The Memorial Service is to be held on the 4th of December at 11am. We as Elks do this once a year for all of our absent (deceased) members that passed away this year. We honor their memory by putting on this awesome ceremony for them and their families. Our next initiation is coming up on the 13th. It is always good if we have a lot members show up to the initiations. Not only to show support of the officers performing their charges, but also support of the new members and it makes an awesome impression on them. I hope to see you there and maybe some new faces. December 17th is Hoop Shoot and every year lodge members come and help out in the fun. It is always great to see these young athletes strive to make those perfect shots at the free-throw line and the smiles and laughter are always good too. If you haven't participated in this great event, we are always needing more help even if it is just rebounding the ball. Well that about does it for my spiel. Don't forget to come to the lodge for Sunday Football. We open at noon and more than likely I will be there rooting for my team. It has been a lot fun so far! So come out and enjoy drink specials and good friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you have a Great Christmas!
